Rangely athletes shine at indoor track meet

RANGELY | A group of dedicated Rangely High School athletes, not currently involved in CHSAA winter sports, have been training diligently for indoor track and field. Their hard work paid off at the recent UCCS Series #1 indoor meet held at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Field House.

Impressive Performances:

  • Logan Peterson:
    • 60m dash: 7.68 seconds
    • Long jump: 18’9” (personal record)
    • 200m dash: 25.59 seconds (personal record)
  • Jay Valdez:
    • 60m dash: 8.39 seconds (first time out of the blocks)
    • 800m run: 2:20.46 (personal record)
  • James Talbot:
    • 800m run: 2:02.34 (first place)
    • 5k run: 17:57 (fifth place)
  • Taya Wren:
    • 5k run: 18:43 (third place)

The team is set to continue their training and will compete again later in January.
