RANGELY ELKS HOOP SHOOT

On Dec. 10, 2024, Rangely Elks Lodge hosted their annual Hoop Shoot contest. Nineteen shooters from Rangely entered the contest. The divisions are 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13 for boys and girls. Each contestant shoots 25 free throws in the competition. The event was very competitive with a lot of good shooting by the participants. Winning the 8-9 girls division was Lillie Potter and placing second was Khloe  Skelton. In the 10-11 age group the winner was Kaila Hill, and placing second was Paisley Potter. In the 12-13 age group the winner was Ivory Triplett and placing second was Savanah Skelton. In the 8-9 boys division the winner was Oliver Riggins and placing second was Wylan Key. In the 10-11 age group the winner was Liam Geer and placing second was Kylor Hensen. In the 12-13 age group the winner was Karter Skelton with Keaton Elam placing second. The Rangely Elks Lodge would like to congratulate all the shooters on their performances. The first-place winners will now advance to the regional shoot held in Rifle, Colorado, on Jan. 18. The winners of that shoot will compete at state. The Elks Lodge would also like to give a big shout-out to the Rangely High School girls’ basketball team for doing the judging and scoring for this event.
