Rangely FBLA earns top honors

RANGELY | The Rangely High School Future Business Leaders of America chapter posted strong results at the District Leadership Conference held this week on the campus of Colorado Mesa University, earning multiple first-place finishes and numerous top-10 placements against competitors from across the region.

Rangely students captured four first-place awards, highlighting the depth and versatility of the chapter’s program. Aubrianna Tapia placed first in Agribusiness; Gracie Varner earned first in Human Resource Management; Haiden Garcia won Introduction to Business Communication; and Zoie Britt claimed first in Organizational Leadership.

Several students added podium finishes, positioning themselves well for the upcoming state competition. Paytin Kendal placed second in Human Resource Management, Matthew Morgan earned second in Personal Finance, and Addison Thyan finished third in Agribusiness. Kaelyn Geer placed third in Business Communication, while Taylor Fouch earned third in Introduction to Business Communication.

Additional strong showings included Falon Gilbert and Josie Hamblin, who placed fourth in Broadcast Journalism, with the team of Haiden Garcia and Addison Thayn finishing ninth. In Sales Presentation, Zoie Britt and Paytin Kendal placed fifth, followed by Taylor Fouch, Addison Scott and Aubrianna Tapia in eighth.

In Professional Specialty events, Alivia Green earned fifth place in Healthcare Administration. Josie Hamblin placed sixth in Insurance and Risk Management, Cutler Mergelman earned sixth in Career Portfolio, and Aspen Steele finished fourth in Graphic Design.

Overall, the results reflect a strong start to the FBLA competitive season for Rangely, with students advancing in a wide range of business, leadership and communication events.
