Rangely High School volleyball hosted Vail Mountain on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022. The junior varsity team beat their opponents in two sets 25-8 and 25-20. The Panthers served a great game with Aubrey Kenney leading with seven aces followed by Kenzie Satterly with four. Aubrianna Tapia had a great game at the net with three solo blocks and five kills. Paola Munoz and Kenzie Satterly both had six digs followed by Tylee Fielder with five digs. All the girls passed really well in both sets.
Varsity won their second league match against Vail Mountain, beating Vail Mountain in three sets, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-20. Rangely passed very well and moved the ball around to all the hitters. Kyrah Phelps led with six kills, with Annika Cantrell, Lexi LeBleu and Emmerre Wagner chipping in five kills each. Karlee Halcomb had a great night behind the service line, leading the team with 20 earned points and two aces. Defensively the girls played well at the net, and dug some good balls. Kristiana Terry and Kyrah Phelps led the team in digs with 27 and 19 respectively. Panthers played well and are improving each week.
It will be a busy week ahead for the Panthers as the travel to Craig on Tuesday, Sept. 6, play home against North Fork and then back on the road Saturday to DeBeque.
