Kevin Wren and Fisher Winder are the most recently called missionaries for their church in Rangely. These two young men, along with Marstan Wagner, have been long time friends from starting kindergarten together, played basketball together as Panthers, graduated four years of early morning seminary and were all 2023 Rangely High School graduates. They have chosen and prepared spiritually, physically and emotionally to serve full time two-year missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Fisher Winder will go to Portland, Oregon, and Kevin Wren is headed to Flagstaff, Arizona, where he will be assigned to a Spanish-speaking area. They will be leaving for the missionary training center in Provo within weeks of one another. The young men will be ordained as elders and receive priesthood authority to assist them in their duties with helping all they encounter during their two years away.
These three community members will join many others serving their church from the Rangely area. Chloe Filfred has reported to her mission location in Riverside, California; Hayley Burr is in Micronesia, Guam; and Mary Ann Allred will leave later this July to assist in the Philippines Olongapo mission. Elder Joseph Adams has already arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he will teach and serve for the next two years. His sister Julianne Adams recently completed her own mission and plans to attend university this fall.
