RANGELY | The Rangely Panthers volleyball team had a standout weekend, securing two significant victories that showcased their skill and teamwork.
On Thursday night, the Panthers took on Plateau Valley in a four-set battle, finishing with scores of 26-28, 25-21, 25-22, and 25-22. The match was filled with intense rallies as both teams displayed grit, refusing to give up points easily, creating a thrilling night for fans.
On Saturday, Rangely faced Class 3A powerhouse Cedaredge, defeating the Bruins in four sets: 25-12, 18-25, 25-20, and 25-22. The Panthers’ seniors led the way with impressive stats: Lexi Lebleu and Emmeree Wagner recorded nine and 10 kills, respectively, while Addison Scott and Aubrianna Tapia added 10 and eight kills each. Kaitlyn Cox contributed 18 assists, and Scott and Wagner’s accuracy, with hitting percentages of .412 and .304, respectively, gave the Panthers an edge.
Defensively, Emma Winder and Cox were powerhouses with 15 digs each, while Wagner added 10. The team’s serving was equally sharp, with Lebleu achieving a 43.8% ace rate and Karlee Halcomb serving at 93.3%, showing the Panthers’ depth in every aspect of the game.
With these back-to-back victories, Rangely moves closer to its goal of hosting a regional tournament. The Panthers’ final regular-season match against a strong Debeque team is set for Friday night, and fans are eager to see if they can keep the winning streak alive. Good luck, Panthers!
