The Rangely Panthers wrestling team traveled to Meeker twice this past week for a dual and for a dual team tournament. First, the Panthers dualed the Cowboys. Rangely expected it to be a very tough dual and it was. Only two RHS wrestlers won matches on the night: Landon Carlson and Izaiah Moody.
On Saturday, the Panthers competed in the dual team tournament. The first dual was against Basalt. Rangely won the dual but did not wrestle well. Winning for the Panthers were Cameron Preciado, Aydan Christian, Wyatt Stevens, Izaiah Moody and Jaxon Torsell. The next dual was against Hayden. Scoring for the Panthers were Cameron Preciado and Jaxon Torsell. The third dual was against Grand Valley, and Rangely was defeated 54-24. Winning matches for the Panthers were Wyatt Stevens, Joesph Nickson, Izaiah Moody and Jaxon Torsell. The fourth dual was against the Meeker B team; Rangely was defeated 45-23. Scoring for the Panthers were Aydan Christian, Ronny Anderson, Wyatt Stevens and Landon Carlson. The last dual of the day was against Coal Ridge, where RHS lost 30-24. Scoring for Rangely were Cameron Preciado, Aydan Christian, Ronny Anderson and Jaxon Torsell.
This week the Panther wrestlers travel to Cedaredge for the regional tournament.
