RANGELY | Rangely School District has announced an extended closure due to COVID-19. New expected start date is April 6.
“A lot of thought went into this decision, including recommendations/mandates coming down from the state and federal governments, as well as some pretty solid research, and modeling from experts who say the spread of COVID-19 is not a matter of if, rather when,” RSD stated in a Facebook post.
RSD is working on an education plan that will utilize technologies like Google Classroom to continue instruction and will provide updates as details are finalized.
Sports are cancelled, and RSD will likely not hold any extracurriculars through April depending on the situation.
They are also working to make lunch available for pick up to students. For many low-income students, school lunches are a primary nutritional source.
