RANGELY | JV team ended up playing twice, playing Vail Christian’s ‘C’ team and JV team. The JV team started out slow with some missed serves. As the game progressed the girls started to play their game winning the match in two sets. After the win the ladies had to get back on the court to play Vail Christian’s JV team. They started right where they left off and taking the first set decisively. Second set didn’t go as well as the first and struggled with passing and terminating play.

Vail Christian took the second set and pushed the Panthers into a third set. Third set started off slow for the Panthers, not able to put points on the board. Panthers made a small run but fell short in the third set losing to Vail Christian.

Varsity took to the court next ready for action. The Panthers looked good, terminating play and playing great defense, according to coach Marybel Cox. Rangely took the first set 25-21. Unfortunately the Panthers dropped sets the next three sets to the Saints, 15-25, 19-25 and 22-25.

Unforced errors, passing errors and missed serves played vital roles in the Panthers loss. Hannah Wilkie and Kacie Lapp led in digs, and Aspen Low and Hannah Wilkie led in blocks. Panthers look to bounce back on Thursday when they play the Meeker Cowboys.
