The Rangely Panther wrestling team was in Rifle this past weekend. Sixteen Rangely wrestlers competed and 13 placed in the top four.
“I want to thank to the parents who helped out in Rifle,” coach Andy Lucero said. “Overall I think the wrestlers are doing a great job, keep up the good work.”
This week’s champions were Tyce Lucero and Karver Lopez. Second place winners were Landon Carlson, Joseph Mckay, Jedidiah Vanderwack, Byron Mackay and Tytus Coombs. Third place winner was Colton Stevens. Fourth place winners were Dylan Smuts, Andrew Slack, Kobey Chism, Max Stout and Brody McElhaney.
Competing in the tournament but not placing were Breckin McElhaney, Anthony Dorris and Joshua Dunn. The team has one more tournament left on May 7, in Craig.
The wrestlers have this week off. “So rest up, wrestlers,” Lucero said.
