Rangely’s lady Panthers extend winning streak; face DeBeque next

RANGELY | The Rangely Panthers girls basketball team extended its winning streak with a decisive 60-36 victory over Little Snake River on Thursday night.

The Panthers showcased a balanced attack, with several players contributing to the win. Senior guard Miah Wren led the charge with 22 points, eight assists, and seven steals. Ashlynn Ducey also had a strong performance, adding 16 points, four assists, a game-high eight deflections, and three steals.

Inside the paint, Aubrianna Tapia contributed 10 points and six rebounds, while Addison Scott and Emmeree Wagner each chipped in six points. Wagner also dominated the boards, pulling down nine rebounds.

Rangely’s suffocating defense was a key factor in the win, forcing turnovers and limiting the Rattlers’ scoring opportunities.

The Panthers continued their dominant season with a resounding 67-18 league victory over Vail Christian. Their offensive firepower was on full display as they overwhelmed the Saints.

Wren led all scorers with a game-high 28 points. Tapia also reached double figures with 10 points. Ducey added nine, while Wagner chipped in seven. The balanced scoring continued with Aubrey Kenney and Scott each scoring four, Rachel Elder and Emma Winder adding two apiece, and Rylee Kenney contributing one.

Rangely’s stifling defense held the Saints to just 18 points, showcasing its commitment on both ends of the court.

The Panthers look to continue their winning ways when they face De Beque on Friday at 5 p.m.
