Rio Blanco County Public Health will be offering a Pfizer vaccine clinic for 16 and 17 year-old residents who desire vaccination in the near future. Information on how/when to sign up will be forwarded to school districts and posted publicly within the next two weeks.
Rio Blanco County Public Health plans to begin in-office clinic appointments for COVID-19 vaccine in both Meeker and Rangely starting in May. Please call 970-878-9520 (Meeker) or 970-878-9525 (Rangely) to schedule your first dose or booster.
Boosters are not required to be given at exactly 28 days. Boosters may be given after 28 days, but not before.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has reauthorized the use of Johnson and Johnson single dose vaccine, however Rio Blanco County Public Health does not offer this presentation. Rio Blanco County Public Health recommends not to wait for availability as timely vaccination is a priority.
In Rio Blanco County, free testing is available at public health. Testing is available by appointment only. Call 970-878-9520 in Meeker or 970-878-9525 in Rangely. Please be advised that testing for COVID-19 is recommended for all symptomatic individuals (please see CDC website for a list of symptoms), and all individuals who are exposed to a known case. If you have no symptoms but have been exposed, it is advised to test 5-7 days after your last known exposure, or as soon as possible after you begin to develop symptoms.
