RBC Jr. Livestock team wraps up season

RBC | To wrap up the 2023/24 Rio Blanco County 4-H year the Western Rio Blanco Jr Livestock Judging Team traveled to Casper, Wyoming, to compete in the Casper College Fall Classic Livestock Judging Contest. The participating youth on this trip were between the ages of 8-12 and have been working hard to prepare for this event. Bonnie Long (Coach), Waylyn Tuck, Amari Rayburn and Indica Rayburn (4-H members) of Rangely attended.

These 4-H youth competed as a team and also individually at the event.  As a team, the youth were awarded Junior Reserve Champion in both swine and cattle classes, as well as the Overall Junior Division Reserve Champion Team. Indica Rayburn’s placings were third in swine, and fifth High Individual Overall. Amari Rayburn placed fourth in sheep individually.

4-H provides educational opportunities for youth ages 8-18 through various activities, including animal science, home economics, natural resources, handcrafts, leadership, and citizenship.

Statewide 4-H enrollment opened on Oct. 1, 2024. New and returning members can register at 4honline.com.
