Meeker High School senior Adrienne Wix and Rangely High School senior Alexis Silva are swimming with the Moffat County High School swim team this season. The girls travel twice a week to Craig for practice and the other days they practice at home. The first swim meet of the season was a triangular hosted by the Glenwood Demons at the Glenwood Recreation Center pool. Wix placed second in the 200 freestyle. Both girls were part of the 200 freestyle relay team which qualified for the state championship meet in February. The following day the team swam against the Aspen and Montrose swim teams in Aspen. Silva and Wix have been friends and competitors since they were 7-years-old and participated in the summer club swim seasons with the Rangely Hurricanes and Meeker Makos swim teams.
