RBC | A protest of petition was filed by Meeker resident Matt Scott on Aug. 13 regarding the recall of RBC Commissioner Gary Moyer. Scott’s protest expresses concerns that the petition “once again did not comply with Colorado law and was accepted by County Clerk Boots Campbell contrary to the longstanding rules for the certification of a recall,” citing changes to the Uniform Election Code that were signed into law by the state on June 21, 2021 — three weeks after the second recall petition was approved for circulation.
A hearing has been set for Friday, Aug. 27 at 2:30 p.m. in the third floor meeting room of the Rio Blanco County Courthouse in Meeker. The hearing will be livestreamed on the county’s YouTube channel. No public comments will be allowed, and all involved parties must attend in person.
