Special to the HT
RBC | Have you considered regifting your Christmas tree for fish habitat? Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) will begin collecting real Christmas trees starting Monday, Dec. 29. You can drop off your Christmas tree at the CPW Meeker Area Office or the CPW Craig Warehouse in Craig during regular business hours, which are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donated Christmas trees will be repurposed into fish habitat at lakes in the Craig and Meeker areas.
Donation Locations:
CPW Meeker Area Office: 73485 CO-64, Meeker
CPW Craig Warehouse: 1715 N Yampa Avenue Craig
CPW will be accepting fir, pine, and spruce trees; however, we will not be accepting plastic or fake Christmas trees for donations. Please remove all decorations — lights, hooks, tinsel, ornaments, etc. — prior to drop-off.
Christmas tree donations will be accepted at both locations through Friday, Jan. 9.
