RANGELY — Almost all of us know someone whose life has been affected or devastated by cancer. A special luminaria ceremony will be held at the Rio Blanco County “Relay for Life” Aug. 22 to remember those lost to cancer and honor those who have survived.
The event kicks off with cancer survivors’ first official lap and a dinner for survivors. Following this first walk, other walkers and teams walk or run from 6 p.m. on Friday to 10 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 23).
If you or someone you know is a survivor who wants to be involved in the relay and its events and celebrate victory over cancer, contact Dave Jordan at (970) 675-8512 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Anyone desiring to purchase luminarias can contact Jon Bader or Kathleen Martynowicz at (970) 674-5008. Luminaria candles are available for a donation of $5 each. All funds raised benefit the American Cancer Society.
