The White River Roundup is a program designed to provide nutritious lunches and social support to Rio Blanco residents age 60 and over. The menus are created monthly with a taste of home in each meal. Each menu is reviewed and approved by a nutritionist so that our attendees receive both delicious and healthy meals.
Lunch is provided in Meeker at the Chuckwagon, 200 Main St. (Fairfield Center). Rangely meals are provided at Radino, 403 N. White, and each location serves at noon. In Meeker the meals are freshly prepared Monday-Thursday and in Rangely on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both locations are closed for holidays and weekends. An application is required for the grant program and donations are accepted. However, no applicant will be turned away for their inability to pay.
With an approved application, it is required that each person call in before 8 a.m. if they are planning on attending. This makes it possible for better planned meals and enough food for all. The suggested donation for seniors is $2.50 and for guests it is suggested at $10.25. Again, no one will be turned away for their inability to make a donation.
Rio Blanco recognizes the importance of nutrition and socialization for our seniors. We have an inviting atmosphere and both locations offer activities as well. Rio Blanco seniors are valued and appreciated at both locations and we honor their presence in our community.
