Forest Service employees Ron Taussig and Linn Pettijohn recently retired. A retirement party was held in their honor Saturday night at the Meeker Cafe. More than 100 of their friends, co-workers and family members were in attendance. Ron started his Forest Service career in Meeker as a seasonal employee in 1969. He was able to spend his entire Forest Service career in Meeker. Linn began his Forest Service career in 1971 as a seasonal worker on the Kiabab National Forest in Fredonia, Ariz. He worked for the Forest Service in Walden and Saguache before moving to Meeker in 1981. Between the two of them, Taussig and Pettijohn have 78 years of Forest Service work experience.
