RANGELY | This past week the Rangely Panther volleyball team took on the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers in Vail and the Bulldogs of Moffat County.
The Panthers won in a grueling match against the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers. Both teams showed a ton of scrappy defensive plays throughout the entire match. Rangely was able to outlast the Gore Rangers, behind the strong senior leadership in Annika Cantrell and Emma Smith in five sets 25-27, 25-22, 21-25, 25-12 and 15-6.
After a long journey and an event-filled Septemberfest weekend the Panthers returned to the Panther Den to take on the Moffat County Bulldogs from Craig, Colorado. The Panthers came out ready to play with a commanding lead to begin the match, but the Bulldogs rallied and came storming back to force the Panthers to take a timeout at 23-22 in favor of the home team. After regrouping, the Panthers were able to finish off the set 25-23; they were then able to finish the match in three straight sets, 25-23, 25-15, 25-16.
