CALL SUMMARIES
4/23/2023 @ 6:47 pm. A suspicious vehicle was called into the Communications Center on E Rodeo Rd. near Rangely. The reporting party stated there were two people in a truck that had clothes and trash scattered all over the roadway. Upon the deputies’ arrival there were no clothes or trash on the ground and the female was just showing the male where she used to live.
4/24/2024 @ 6:01 am. A watch phone activation came into the Communications Center with a latitude/longitude location. The Sheriff along with Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to the area on Highway 13 and indeed there had been an accident, car vs elk. There were no injuries.
4/24/2024 @ 6:06 pm. A traffic complaint was reported east bound on Highway 64 from the 61 mile-marker. A semi was unable to maintain their lane around corners and almost ran another vehicle off the road. A deputy was able to get behind the semi and conduct a traffic stop. The driver was issued a citation for failing to maintain lane.
4/25/2024 @ 11:16 am. A female party left on foot from Pioneers Medical Center. The reporting party was concerned as she would be walking to her home in Meeker. In the meantime the Communications Center received two additional calls regarding the female party. One caller stated that she was laying in the middle of the road on Highway 13. A Meeker PD officer located the female and gave her a ride to her residence.
4/26/2024 @ 9:54 am. A Meeker resident wanted to let the police department know that there was someone pounding on their door around 1:30-2:00 in the morning. The resident advised they would be putting up cameras.
4/26/2024 @ 10:14 pm. A fire was reported near Kenney Reservoir. The reporting party stated that it had been started by an ATV. Upon the deputy’s arrival, it was a fire that was related to the OHV rally and all was OK.
4/27/2024 @ 11:34 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a reported fight at a local bar. No arrests were made as it was determined that some bar goers were just trying to prevent someone from driving while being intoxicated.
