CALL SUMMARIES
6/4/2023 @ 6:02 pm. A group of people were camping in a no camping area near the 26 mile-marker on Highway 64. A deputy responded and the area was for day use only and the campers were urged to pack up and use a designated camping area.
6/5/2023 @ 1:15 am. the same group of campers were called in for camping on an oil pad on the west side of Rio Blanco County on W Rodeo Rd. The campers were contacted by a deputy and moved along.
6/5/2023 @ 7:50 pm. A roll off container caught fire in the area of County Road 15. No other structures or vehicles were affected. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded and got the fire out.
6/5/2023 @ 10:43 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a protection order violation.
6/6/2023 @ 2:15 pm. A motorcycle accident occured on Highway 139 near the 38 mile-marker. The injured rider was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital.
6/6/2023 @ 8:29 pm. An injured dog that looked like it was bleeding was called in at the 20 mile-marker on Highway 13. After further investigation the dog just had some pink spray paint on it.
6/7/2023 @ 9:25 am. A smoke report came into the Communcations Center spotted near the 24 mile-marker on County Road 8. It was a false alarm as a land owner in the area was doing a controlled burn and had notified dispatch that they would be doing so.
6/9/2023 @ 8:47 am. Not only was there a mule in the roadway but it was an “aggressive” mule near the 27 mile-marker on County Road 8. The owner of the mule was contacted and handled the situation.
6/10/2023 @ 1:37 pm. A road rage incident involving a gun occurred in Mesa County and the suspect was last seen heading into Rio Blanco County via Highway 139. A Rio Blanco Deputy was able to locate the suspect vehicle and stop it. The suspect was taken into custody and transferred to a Mesa County deputy.
