ARRESTS

A 40 year-old male was arrested on 5/24/2024 on Garfield County Warrants. A 38 year-old male was arrested on 5/24/2024 for Obstruction of a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Violation of a Protection Order. He was released on a $100 PR bond.

CALL SUMMARIES

5/19/2024 @ 3:06 pm. A smoke report was called into the Communications Center near the 6 mile-marker on County Rd. 122. BLM Fire was notified and had the fire contained at 6:17 pm. It was reported to be .1 acres

5/19/2024 @ 4:03 pm. A female party called 911 requesting an officer to relay some water and oranges to kids playing baseball. An officer did respond to educate the caller on the proper use of 911.

5/21/2023 @ 9:23 am. An ATV vs truck was reported on County Road 80. There were a total of 3 patients with minor injuries.

5/21/2024 @ 11:51 am. Deputies checked on a suspicious vehicle several times. Callers were reporting a female party in her vehicle at the first pulloff on County Road 8. She was okay and just waiting on some gas money to continue her journey.

5/23/2024 @ 12:26 am. An automated crash notification came into the Communications Center. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of the GPS coordinates provided in the crash detection. A deputy was in the area on another call and came across the accident. A small truck had hit an elk at the 19.5 mile marker on County Road 5. The single occupant was injured and flown to the hospital.

5/24/2024 @ 10:34 pm. A disturbance at the Trail & Hitch on County Rd 8 resulted in an arrest. A mother and son were fighting. Upon law enforcement’s arrival the male party started fighting with officers. He was taken into custody and transported to jail.

5/25/2024 @ 12:07 pm. A hit and run accident was discovered in front of Chippers. The owner of the vehicle assumed the accident had happened the night before. No suspect information was provided.

5/25/2024 @ 6:58 pm. A suspicious incident occurred at a residence in the town limits of Meeker. The homeowner noticed muddy footprints throughout the residence however nothing appeared to be disturbed. Possible suspect information was provided to Meeker PD.

Three Rio Blanco County Deputies participated in the LARP (Live Action Role Play) event that was held in Rangely. They enjoyed the event and its participants.
