RANGELY — There will be a free zoonotic disease awareness workshop Friday at CNCC’s Weiss Building from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. There will be a free lunch following.
The instructor will be Dr. Katie Steneroden. She has a master’s degree in public health and is the infection control officer for the veterinary hospital at Colorado State University. Certification of class will be presented.
Zoonoses are diseases that are “shared between” humans and animals. “Shared between,” means sometimes the diseases are transmitted from animal to human and sometimes from human to the animal.
The Rangely Animal Shelter is sponsoring the event.
