MEEKER | Gypsy Josh Soul, formerly known as Joshua David Solt, a 35-year-old male and former local business owner, appeared in District court Tuesday virtually from the Moffat County jail and entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity on all charges. Soul was arrested in June on charges including sexual assault on a child, sexual exploitation of a child, enticement of a child, and internet luring of a child.
Soul was arrested in June and remains in the Moffat County Jail.
A state-sponsored psychiatric evaluation will be ordered and if Soul meets the criteria, which may include an interview and a polygraph, he will be remanded to a psychiatric institution.
The psychiatric evaluation may take three months or longer. A status update was scheduled by the judge for Jan. 27, 2026.
