RANGELY | The CNCC Spartans rounded out their last rodeo of the season in Grand Junction.
Austin Romans put together a couple of awesome runs in the steer wrestling, winning the first round with a 5.0 second run. He rode his horse well and placed second with a 6.3 second run. His combined times gave him the average win and he brought home a “sharp looking and feeling” trophy knife.
Wyatt Hallam put together a solid “businessman’s run” to split second place in the first round of calf roping. He came back to win the second round with a 10.9 second run, solidifying his average win and also brought home a trophy knife.
Beau Southern put all his heart into his bull ride and the judges knew it. He won the round, placed second in the average and had the highest score of the whole weekend with an 82 point ride.
Chandler Wilkins roped her steer, giving her partner a great shot and placing second in the first round and sixth in the average.
Makenah Faircloth put together a 9.4 second run in the first round of goat tying. She came back to the second round and tied in 8.5 seconds placing sixth in the short round and seventh in the average.
