MEEKER I The public is invited to “Stories of the Parish” presented by the Rio Blanco County Historical Society on June 30 in Meeker. The event will take place in Richards Hall at St. James Episcopal Church at Fourth Street and Park Avenue, beginning at 1 p.m. Stories will be presented of early-day parishes, there will be a sing-along with the “church ladies” and special speaker Andrew Cooley will impersonate the well-loved and remembered Father Will Richards. Those who attend are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share as complements to the homemade hamburgers and “fixings” provided by the RBCHS Board.
RANGELY | William Scoggins of Rangely has received the Freshman Tuition Merit Scholarship for the fall 2013 semester at Fort Lewis College in Durango. Scoggins’s major is engineering.
