RBC I Colorado Northwestern Community College is one of only six community colleges and four universities in Colorado and Wyoming that will receive scholarship assistance from the National Western Scholarship Trust. Two CNCC students will receive $4,500/year nursing scholarships. One will be given to a first year student and one to a second year nursing student, each year, on a continuing basis.
The CNCC nursing program is very grateful for this wonderful scholarship. The nursing program at CNCC was started nine years ago in response to the nursing shortage in northwestern Colorado. Recipients of the National Western Scholarship Trust Awards agree to practice in rural communities in Colorado or Wyoming for two years after graduation. The first year nursing student to receive this scholarship for the school year of 2012-13 is Marty Jo Jensen and the second year nursing student to receive this $4,500 scholarship is Holly Gurr.
