Meeker

Summertime and VBS go together

Special to the HT

MEEKER |  The community of Meeker has a plethora of VBS options every summer. Some kids  circulate and hit them all, while others choose their favorite church. Some select their  favorite theme or go with a favorite friend who invited them. But all the options for  Vacation Bible School are filled with a designated few days of Bible stories, crafts,  outdoor activities, yummy refreshments and a lifetime of memories.

VBS at the White River Methodist Church has been in existence for most of its 133  years. However this year, we are welcoming some of the other local churches to join us  and make it an even bigger and better VBS than ever before!

Coming: July 13-15, 3:30 – 5:30 pm

Location: White River Methodist Church – 809 Park Ave.

Ages: Pre-K through 5th Grade

Theme: Emerald Crossing, an Irish Adventure through Psalm 23.

In a world filled with anxiety and fear, is there a God Who cares? Emerald Crossing  provides our children with a faith-based experience that teaches them about God’s care  and guidance through Psalm 23. They will discover Him as a Shepherd, Comforter,  Provider and Promise Keeper! Characters like Mia the Sheep, Guide the Border Collie  and “Mercy da’ Coo,” the Highland Cow will be on hand to help show us all the benefits  of a good Shepherd and how we can enjoy the peace He provides as He leads us  beside still waters.

Mitchell and Katherine Cochran, this year’s VBS Directors, are planning three days of a Jesus filled adventure through Bible skits, games, refreshments and crafts! Certified  leaders who care about our children are preparing to walk them through all the activities  of this year’s event.

Want to join us on this Irish Adventure through Psalm 23? You can register by signing  up at your local church and sending the list to: [email protected].
