Rangely man gets nine years for rape

RANGELY I At a sentencing hearing on Feb. 6 at the Rio Blanco Courthouse and as a result of a plea bargain, 21-year-old Rangely resident Michael Miner was sentenced to nine years in the Colorado Department of Corrections for the July 2014 rape of a 12-year-old Rangely girl.

Wanted felon arrested at Meeker apartment

MEEKER I On Monday the Meeker Police Department announced that on Jan. 21 Meeker police officer Gardner Mendenhall developed information that led to locating Matthew Finley, 28, who was wanted out of Mesa County on a nationwide no-bond warrant for charges related to dangerous drugs.

MEEKER I On Dec. 20, Meeker police arrested two out-of-state females for allegedly misrepresenting themselves as relatives of Meeker residents and claiming to be collecting money so the Meeker High School volleyball team could go to Florida to play in a tournament.
