Vision help for people 55 and older

RANGELY | Thanks to a generous American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Independent Living Center is pleased to make available, at no charge, low vision assessments and assistive technology assessments in our Rio Blanco County service area for people aged 55 or older who have significant vision loss.

Shooting range schedule

MEEKER |  The Meeker Sportsman’s Club Range will be closed Aug. 26 through Sept. 25 and Oct. 13 through Nov. 30 except for sight-in days. Sight-in days will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Oct. 13-14, Oct. 20-21, Nov. 3-4 and Nov. 15.

Pilot presents slideshow Aug. 25

MEEKER | Local pilot Dave Cole and his wife, Martha, will host a slide show presentation of photographs taken during their recent trips to Central America and Mexico with LightHawk. The presentation will be held at the Meeker United Methodist Church from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25.

Seats open on college board of trustees

RANGELY | The Rangely Junior College District election will be held Nov. 1, for two open seats on the board of trustees for four-year terms.

Speaker coming to RBC Fair

RBC | A speaker from the National Beef Speakers Bureau will visit the Rio Blanco County Fair this year. Jo Stanko from Steamboat Springs will be speaking from 9-9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 6.
