Lady Panthers advance to regional tournament at Palisade RANGELY I They haven’t reached their ultimate goal, but they are one step closer. The Lady Panthers won all three of their matches at last week’s district tournament, which they hosted.
CNCC flight team soars at NIFA competition
RANGELY I The Colorado Northwestern Community College flight team competed in the NIFA Regional SAFECON 2010, finishing in third place overall in the school category. That ranking brings with it an invitation to the National SAFECON 2011, which will be held in May at the Ohio State University.
Obituary: Dennis R. Middleton Sr.
Dennis R. Middleton Sr. Sept. 2, 1954~Oct. 25, 2010 Dennis Ray Middleton, Sr. went to be with the Lord Oct. 25, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 56. Dennis was born to Robert Dean and Betty June Middleton on Sept. 2, 1954, in Granite City, Ill.
Panthers end season at 0-9
RANGELY I They didn’t win a game. But they didn’t quit. “It was a tough year,” said Rangely football coach Tim Galloway after the Panthers finished the season without a win. “But they kept fighting. They kept battling.”

Local voters follow some state trends
RBC I Voters, locally, turned out in big numbers for Tuesday’s general election. Seventy-six percent of voters in Rio Blanco County cast ballots. In some races, the outcome of local voting followed the statewide results. In other races, RBC voters bucked the statewide trends.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7. Remember to set your clocks back one hour. The current schedule, adopted in 2007, calls for DST to extend from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.

Rangely qualifies three for state
RANGELY I The Panther cross country team rolled into Cortez on Friday evening in anticipation of the regional championships to follow on Saturday morning.
