MEEKER — Smoking River Pow Wow welcomes prospective volunteers to an orientation session Tuesday evening, July 8 at the Meeker Interagency Office. This is an exciting opportunity for community members to participate in this year’s inaugural event; newcomers are encouraged.

MEEKER — Clifford Duncan, Ute elder and cultural advisor to the Smoking River Pow Wow Committee, will hold a blessing ceremony at the Ute Park pow wow site on Tuesday, July 8 at 3 p.m.
‘Rock stars’ help prep for pow wow
MEEKER — More than 40 people — many of them children — showed up to remove rocks from the site of the Smoking River Pow Wow. And that made them stars.
