RBC I For those of you who don’t know me, I am Terry Smalec, and I am running for successor in the Gary Moyer Recall Election.
My wife and I came to Rangely in 1982 so I could pursue an instrumentation tech degree at Colorado Northwestern Community College. We arrived during the boom days in Rangely, so we had to spend our first six months here living in a teepee just off Dragon Road. Not long after I completed my degree, I was employed by Williams Companies. My wife and I raised two children here, and I retired from Williams after 31 years.
My diverse work experience includes working for major corporations, the government and starting several businesses. I am currently a beekeeper and sell honey, wax and bee hives. I have also served on the Rangely Town Council and several boards including the RBC Fair Board, the Douglas Creek Conservation District Board, the Rio Blanco Schools Federal Credit Union Board and several others.
My political “agenda” is pretty simple:
• Serving the people of Rio Blanco County will always be the priority
• Micromanaging department heads doesn’t work, but utilizing them and using the talent and resources in the county does.
• Stepping on the toes of other elected officials and trying to dictate to them how to run their offices is never a good idea.
• Every citizen of Rio Blanco County deserves to be listened to with respect.
If you want to know more about me, please call 970-675-2355 and if I don’t pick up, please leave a message telling me how to contact you.
Again, thank you for your signatures and support! Please vote because even one vote can make a difference and help make this a better county.
