RANGELY I The Rangely Panthers got off to a great start in Caliche only to lose in overtime. Leading the entire game except for the final minute and a half, Rangely gave up a safety to allow Caliche to tie the game.
“Obviously it was a tough way to lose, but I am proud of our kids tonight, and their effort. We got a lot better today, and just didn’t make enough plays to win in the end,” said head coach Ryan Wilkie.
The Panthers had a sack fumble returned for a touchdown to end the first half, “It really changed the momentum, and we couldn’t really get in a rhythm the second half on offense,” Wilkie said. “We won the overtime toss and wanted to really be able to put some pressure on them to have to score, instead we turned the ball over on first down. “Ultimately we just have to continue to get better, I know our kids could recognize the progress they made this week.” Rangely looks to rebound when they travel to Calhan this week.
