Special to the HT
MEEKER | The Eastern Rio Blanco County Health Service District wants to make it easy to understand who can vote in upcoming special district election.
• To vote, you must be a real person (not a business or company) and be registered to vote in Colorado.
You may be eligible if you:
• Live within the district, or
• Own taxable property in the district, or
• Are the spouse or civil union partner of someone who owns property in the district
• You do not have to live in the district if you own property there.
A few additional things to know:
• If you’re under contract to buy property in the district and are paying the property taxes, you are treated as an owner and can vote
• If you own a mobile home or manufactured home in the district, that counts as property ownership for voting
• If property is owned by a business (like an LLC, corporation, or trust), the business itself can’t vote—only people can
• In some cases, if the district no longer taxes business personal property, owning that type of property alone may not qualify you to vote
You may request a replacement mail ballot from the District by filling out the form located at pioneershospital.org/elections. The first ballot received will be the official ballot.
