New banners at the west entrance to Meeker, additions to increase comfort and usability of the downtown parklets, custom-designed bike racks throughout town, and a plan to highlight the community’s pet-friendly activities via an Instagram campaign and a 2024 calendar, are some of the completed and ongoing community projects developed by Uplift Meeker (formerly Meeker:Project 45).
Uplift Meeker is a Colorado Main Street Organization and has recently achieved graduate status. In a letter to the Town of Meeker from Main Street Coordinator Gayle Langley, “Meeker has demonstrated a commitment to downtown revitalization, building solid partnerships, and collaboration. You have shown exemplary work in the critical strategic planning process that energizes your stakeholders, volunteers, and town, which leads to a more vibrant, resilient, and healthy community.”
Meeker is one of only eight communities in the state to reach this level in the Main Street program, providing additional access to grant funding and support for community development.
