MEEKER | Hailey Knowles and Vivian Brown represented the Meeker Cowboys on the links this week for the 3A Western Slope League golf tournament.
Brown shot a 109 and Knowles shot a 118 on very fast greens in inclement weather.
”They were thinking of postponing regionals until Wednesday but per coaches decisions we held it Tuesday,” commented head coach Amanda Back.
Brown was eighth out of 20 to qualify for state and it is her second year in a row to qualify, she shot 11 strokes better than last year.
Knowles improved from day one and was just two shots off to make it as the 20th qualifier for the state tournament.
”You couldn’t ask for better for her first time ever playing golf,” said Back. ”We are bummed to see her go since it is her senior year but so grateful to have had her on the team.
Hailey split time with golf and track and she gave her all to both sports–so proud of what an amazing athlete she is and wish her so much fun and happiness in her next chapter of college,” wrapped up Back.
Next week on Monday, Brown and Back head to Broomfield for the 3A state tournament at The Broadlands Golf Course
