Weather helps stop Jordan Fire

Listen to this post

MEEKER — Rain, clouds, lower temperatures and higher humidity over the Jordan Fire has effectively stopped fire spread as of Aug. 31. The fire is located seven miles northwest of Meeker in the Windy Gulch Wilderness Study Area.
It is estimated at 971 acres and 80 percent contained.
While the fire is not out, managers do not expect measurable growth unless the weather returns to warm and dry conditions.
