The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 504 phone calls last week including 28 911 calls, 59 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 175 outgoing calls. A total of 185 calls for service were created, 74 for the Sheriff’s Office, 71 for MPD and one assist with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 19 traffic stops issued two citations. MPD had 13 stops, issued three citations. There were eight stops on Highway 13 with one citation issued.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included eight agency assists, one 911 hang up, six animal calls, eight civil papers served, nine citizen assists, six motorist assists, four suspicious incidents, five traffic complaints, two trespass, four VIN inspections and one each: abandoned vehicle, alarm, attended death, business check, disturbance, domestic violence, vehicle fire, BLM wildland fire, USFS fire, harassment, theft, traffic hazard, warrant arrest,
MPD calls included three agency assists, four 911 hangups, six animal calls, 16 business checks, six citizen assists, four civili issues, two disturbances, two juvenile problems, two motorist assists, two property, five suspicious incidents, five traffic complaints, four VIN inspections and one each: abandoned vehicle, domestic violence, harassment, theft, traffic accident.
There were 11 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, including one medical transport, two ambulance requests, three wildland fires, one alarm, one injury accident and assisted on a trespass incident.
There were six assists with Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in six, two by the Sheriff’s Office, two from RPD, one from MPD and one from CSP. Five inmates were released. There are currently nine inmates in the facility. There were two transports to or from other facilities.
Five vehicle crashes were reported in the county, two involving car/deer.
There was one DUI arrest by Colorado State Patrol.
