The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. Meeker Dispatch Center administered 480 phone calls last week including 37 911 calls, answered 68 calls for Meeker PD and placed 128 outgoing calls. A total of 230 calls for service were created, 86 for the Sheriff’s Office, 89 for Meeker PD.
Note the department breakdown of calls may differ from the total number reported due to individual incidents with multiple agencies responding.
• Law enforcement conducted 32 traffic stops
• Sheriff’s Deputies issued 18 warnings on 18 stops
• Meeker PD issued 20 warnings on 16 stops
• 5 crashes, 2 involving wildlife, 3 assists with CSP
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 86 calls for service
• 6 911 misdials/tests
• 5 animal calls
• 8 agency assists
• 17 business/security checks
• 7 civil papers served
8 3 citizen assists
• 4 disturbances
• 2 BLM wildland fire
• 8 motorist assists
• 4 suspicious incidents
• 4 Sexual Offender address verification
• 2 traffic complaints
• 3 VIN inspections
• 1 each: abandoned vehicle, COVID transport, criminal mischief, fire ban violation, harassment, theft
Meeker Police Department responded to 89 calls for service
• 3 911 hangup/test
• 2 alarms
• 3 agency assists
• 6 animal calls
• 36 business/residential checks
• 5 citizen assists
• 2 criminal mischief
• 5 disturbances
• 5 suspicious incidents
• 8 thefts VIN inspections
• One each: civil, code enforcement, harassment, sex crime, traffic accident, traffic hazard, unattended death
Meeker Fire and Rescue responded to 9 calls
• 5 ambulance requests, 2 alarms, 1 medical transport to another facility, suspicious odor in a residence
Rio Blanco Detentions
• 11 current inmates, 8 males and 3 females
• 1 jail transports to or from another facility
• 2 arrests from RPD
• 1 inmate released/bonded
