The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
Feb. 18-24, 2019
The dispatch center processed 457 phone calls this last week, receiving 18 911 calls, answered 49 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 167 outgoing phone calls. A total of 116 calls for service were created, 49 for the Sheriff’s Office and 40 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted nine traffic stops, issuing one citation and MPD had four stops also issuing one citation. Highway 13 had two traffic stops issuing one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Deputies included eight agency assists, one 911 hang up, four animal calls, two civil papers served, four citizen assists, three motorist assists, two suspicious incidents, two traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: MIP, theft, traffic accident, traffic hazard and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included five agency assists, one 911 hang up, four animal calls, 17 business checks, five citizen assists, three juvenile problems, and one each, abandoned vehicle, assist other outside agency, gas skip and traffic accident.
There were eight calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two medical transports and six ambulance requests.
There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in one by Rangely Rangely Police Department and released two, Transported five to or from another facility. There are currently 14 inmates in the facility.
There were no DUI arrests, two vehicle crashes reported in the county, one involving deer, elk or cow.
