Weekly Call Review: February 8, 2018

The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Jan. 29-Feb. 4, 2018

The dispatch center processed 267 phone calls, receiving  25 911 calls, answered 49 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 28 outgoing phone calls. A total of 140 calls for service were created, 66 for the Sheriff’s Office, 76 for MPD, and five calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were five auto crashes reported throughout the county none involving elk or deer and one involving an ATV.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted 38 traffic stops issuing six summons, while MPD had 18 stops issuing one citation.

Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included six agency assists, four civil papers served, five business checks, three motorist assists, three traffic accidents and one each: 911 hangup, citizen assist, suspicious incident, traffic arrest and warrant arrest.

MPD calls included five agency assists, four 911 misdials, two alarms, four animal calls, 13 business checks, three citizen assists, five suspicious incidents, two traffic accidents, three VIN inspections and one each: civil, criminal mischief, harassment, juvenile problem, littering, motorist assist, sex assault and traffic hazard.

There were nine calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, two ambulance requests and two medical transports to other facilities.

There were two assists for Colorado State Patrol.

Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in five and released two, all arrested by the Sheriff’s Office, and are currently housing eight inmates.  There was one inmate transport to or from another facility.

There were no DUI arrests.
