The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 468 phone calls this last week, receiving 28 911 calls, answered 51 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 155 outgoing phone calls. A total of 150 calls for service were created, 78 for the Sheriff’s Office and 49 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 14 traffic stops and and MPD had seven stops both agencies issuing all warnings. Highway 13 had two traffic stops.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 15 agency assists, four 911 hang ups, four animal calls, nine civil papers served, two disturbances, three motorist assists, four sexual offender residence checks, two traffic accidents, three traffic complaints, two warrant arrests and one each: business check, theft, traffic hazard, VIN inspection.
Meeker Police Department calls included eight agency assists, two 911 hang ups, three animal calls, 10 business checks, two citizen assists, two code enforcement, three disturbances, three motorist assists and one each: civil, juvenile problem, missing person, suspicious incident, theft, traffic accident, traffic complaint, VIN inspection and warrant arrest.
There were 11 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two medical transfers, seven ambulance requests and two injury accidents.
There were nine assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in eight and released seven, two arrested by CSP, one from MPD, one from Rangely PD and four from the Sheriff’s Office. There are currently 17 inmates in the facility.
Colorado State patrol made one DUI arrest and 10 vehicle crashes reported in the county, two involving deer or elk.
