The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 384 phone calls this last week, receiving 16 911 calls, answering 53 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 94 outgoing phone calls. A total of 122 calls for service were created, 63 for the Sheriff’s Office and 41 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted eight traffic stops, issuing one citation. MPD had six stops also issuing one citation. There was one traffic stop on Highway 13.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 14 agency assists, one 911 hang up, three animal calls, four civil papers served, two citizen assists, two motorist assists, four suspicious incidents, six sexual offender address verifications, four traffic hazards, three warrant arrests, one each: alarm, business check, disturbance, funeral escort, sex crime, theft, traffic crash and traffic complaint.
MPD calls included three agency assists, one 911 hang up, 11 business checks, two juvenile problems, two sexual assaults, three suspicious incidents, two VIN inspections and one each: citizen assist, civil, criminal mischief, disturbance, funeral escort, theft, traffic accident, traffic complaint, and traffic hazard.
There were seven calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two medical transfers, four ambulance requests and one traffic crash involving two semis, both drivers were transported to Pioneers for evaluation.
There were two assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in 10 and released eight, one arrested by CSP, three from MPD and six from the Sheriff’s Office. There are currently 22 inmates in the facility.
Colorado State Patrol made one DUI arrest and responded to three vehicle crashes reported in the county, one involving car vs. cow.
