The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. The dispatch center processed 475 phone calls this last week, receiving 21 911 calls, answered 43 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 94 outgoing phone calls. A total of 163 calls for service were created, 84 for the Sheriff’s Office and 53 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 19 traffic stops, issuing four citations and and MPD had nine stops also issuing one citation. Highway 13 had two traffic stops issuing one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 20 agency assists, two 911 hang ups, three attended deaths, four civil papers served, three business checks, two citizen assists, three disturbances, six suspicious incidents, two traffic accidents, three traffic complaints, four traffic hazards, five VIN inspections and one each: animal call, domestic violence, DUI, juvenile problem, motorist assist, property and trespass.
MPD calls included seven agency assists, one 911 hang up, five animal calls, 10 business checks, three citizen assists, three civil, three code enforcement, two disturbances, five suspicious incidents, gas skip, four VIN inspections.
There were 11 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including five medical transfers and six ambulance requests.
There was one assist with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in two, both arrested by RBSO and released six, transported three to or from another facility. There are currently 14 inmates in the facility.
There was one DUI arrest, two vehicle crashes reported in the county both involving deer.
