The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 527 phone calls last week including 60 911 calls, 51 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 159 outgoing calls. A total of 187 calls for service were created, 100 for the Sheriff’s Office, 70 for MPD and six assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 14 traffic stops, issued one citation. MPD had 19 stops and issued three citations. Four stops on Highway 13 with one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 37 agency assists, three 911 hang ups, three alarms, three animal calls, seven civil papers served, three citizen assists, two BLM wildland fires, three traffic complaints, two traffic hazards, five VIN inspections, two warrant arrests, and one each: ATV accident, funeral escort, motorist assist, protection order violation, suspicious incident, theft, traffic accident, trespass.
MPD calls included three agency assists, two 911 hangups, two alarms, three animal calls, 15 business checks, three citizen assists, two code enforcement, three motorist assists, three suspicious incidents, two vehicle crashes, three VIN inspections and one each:civil, criminal mischief, disturbance, funeral escort, harassment, juvenile problem M-1 transport, theft.
There were 16 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, including two medical transports to another facility, two ambulance requests, three vehicle crashes, one ATV crash, assisted on four BLM fires and responded to two alarms and two wildland fires.
There were 25 assists with Colorado State Patrol. Meeker dispatch answered all of Craig’s 911 calls for approximately 36 hours during an outage in Moffat County.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in two by the Sheriff’s Office. Three inmates were released. Deputies conducted two transports to or from another facility and currently there are eight inmates in the facility.
Four vehicle crashes were reported in the county. No DUI arrests.
