Weekly Call Review: June 25-July 8, 2018

The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

June 25-July 1, 2018

The dispatch center processed 572 phone calls this last week, receiving 21 911 calls, answered 68 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 148 outgoing phone calls. A total of 174 calls for service were created, 63 for the Sheriff’s Office, 112 for MPD and nine calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were five vehicle crashes, three involving deer or elk.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted 17 traffic stops issuing four citations and MPD had 35  stops issuing one citation. Highway 13 south had four traffic stops issuing two citations.

Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included eight agency assists, three animal calls, three civil papers served, two citizen assists, two disturbances, seven motorist assists, three suspicious incidents, four traffic accidents, three VIN inspections and one each: business check, fire ban violation, search and rescue and trespass

Meeker Police Department calls included two 911 hangups, six agency assists, 10 animal calls, 20 business checks, six citizen assists, three civil issues, four disturbances, two motorist assist, three property calls, two suspicious incidents, three theft calls, two vin inspections and one each: alarm, disturbance, DUI, fire ban violation, funeral escort, juvenile issue, M-1 transport, missing person, parking violation, restraining order violations, sex crime, traffic complaint, unattended death and trespass.

There were nine calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including two medical transport, three ambulance requests, one wildland fire, SAR, unattended death and an assist with BLM.

There were three assists with Colorado State Patrol.

Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in three and released two. Two arrests by MPD and one by Rangely Police Department.  The jail is currently housing 13 inmates. 

There was one DUI arrest.

July 2-8, 2018

The dispatch center processed 821 phone calls, receiving 84 calls to 911, answered 107 calls for MPD and placed 191 outgoing phone calls. A total of 248 calls for service were created, 124 for the Sheriff’s Office, 120 for MPD and 10 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were seven vehicle crashes, three involving deer or elk. Three wildland fires were reported.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted 56 traffic stops issuing 18 citations and MPD had 49 stops issuing seven citations. Highway 13 south had 33 traffic stops issuing 10 citations.

Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 16 agency assists, 10 animal calls, three civil papers served, two business checks, two DUIs, three fire ban violations, five motorist assists, seven suspicious incidents, two thefts, three traffic accidents, two traffic complaints, three VIN inspections and three wildland fires.

MPD calls included eight agency assists, eight animal calls, 15 business checks, six citizen assists, one DUI’s, three civil issues, three fire ban violations, three juvenile issues, three motorist assists, three theft reports, six suspicious incidents, two traffic accidents, four VIN inspections and one each: abandoned vehicle, assault, civil, disturbance, domestic violence, property, traffic complaint, traffic hazard.

There were 10 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including three vehicle crashes, three ambulance requests, one domestic violence and three wildland fires.

There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol.

Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in 10 and released nine. One arrest for Colorado State Patrol, two for MPD, three for Rangely PD and four from RBSO. There are currently 16 inmates in the facility.

There were three DUI arrests.
