Weekly Call Review: March 19-25, 2018

The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 312 phone calls this last week, receiving  7 911 calls, answered 44 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 72 outgoing phone calls. A total of 152 calls for service were created, 78 for the Sheriff’s Office, 72 for MPD and five calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were five auto crashes that were reported throughout the county, one involving deer/elk.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted 35 traffic stops issuing 16 citations and MPD had 23 stops issuing three citations.

Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 15 agency assists, four civil papers served, two citizen assists, three motorist assists, four suspicious incidents, two traffic accidents, two traffic complaints and one each: animal call, juvenile problem, one VIN inspection and one warrant arrest.

MPD calls included seven agency assists, one 911 hangup, three alarms, three animal calls, 11 business checks, two civil calls, two juvenile problems, five motorist assists, two property calls and three VIN inspections. One each: citizen assist, criminal mischief, domestic violence, fraud, restraining order violation, suspicious incident, theft and traffic hazard.

There were five calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue; two medical transports, one ambulance request and two traffic crashes.

There were six assists with Colorado State Patrol.

Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in nine and released 12, one by Colorado State Patrol, two by the Sheriff’s Office, four by Rangely PD and two for MPD. The jail is currently housing nine inmates.  There were no inmates transported to or from another facility.

There was one DUI arrest.
