The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
March 20-26, 2017
For the last week the dispatch center received 416 incoming phone calls and placed 113 outgoing calls, received 18 9-1-1 calls, 23 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD), which all resulted in 117 calls for service, 65 for the Sheriff’s Office, 45 for MPD, and six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). A total of five accidents were reported throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 16 traffic stops issuing four citations and 12 warnings, while the MPD had five stops all issued warnings..
Other calls for the Sheriff’s deputies included nine agency assists, six animal calls, two civil papers served, three citizen assists, six motorist assists, one restraining order violation, three suspicious incidents, three traffic accidents, two traffic complaints and one each trespass and VIN inspection.
Meeker Police Department calls included five agency assists, five animal calls, four business checks, five citizen assists, two civil, one juvenile problem, one missing person, two motorist assists, six suspicious incidents, one theft, one unattended death and two VIN inspections.
Meeker Fire and Rescue responded to four calls, two medical transports and two controlled burns needing assistance..
There were two arrests and four releases, the Detention Center currently has 12 inmates.
There were two assists to Colorado State Patrol.
There were no DUI arrests.
